940nm high-reliability VCSEL chip helps rebuild the 4D world

Apr. 23, 2020

What we humans can perceive is 4D space, and reconstructing 4D space is the most important element for realizing artificial intelligence applications. VCSEL, as the core component of 4D spatial reconstruction sensor, is required by different core technical indicators in different scenarios. The smart terminal is powered by batteries, and it is hoped that the higher the VCSEL's Power Conversion Efficiency, the better; the intelligent driving lidar requires VCSEL to meet the requirements of the car regulations and can work reliably at -40 ~ +85 ° C.

Based on the above mainstream application requirements, tyson has launched 940nm VCSEL series products with high conversion efficiency and high reliability. The power includes continuous 1W, 2-3W, 4-5W; in addition to high conversion efficiency and high reliability, this series of chips also has The advantage of fast response is convenient for 4D sensor and lidar applications.

The following is a brief introduction to the 940nm 4W chip as an example:

From the above PCE-I and PI curves, it can be seen that the 940nm VCSEL has high conversion efficiency and slope efficiency, and demonstrates excellent performance in the entire temperature range, which can not only meet the requirements of low power consumption of smart terminals, but also The high reliability requirements of vehicle lidar. The main parameters are as follows:

Tyson provides customers with complete solutions from core components. We have the ability to integrate VCSEL design, chip manufacturing, chip packaging and application solutions. We can provide customers with VCSEL bare chips, VCSEL diodes in various packaging forms, and customized and complete solutions for various special needs.

In addition, tyosn provides quasi-continuous (QCW), continuous and high peak pulse power single and array VCSEL light sources for 808nm, 850nm, and 940nm power specifications for 4D sensors and various lidars.
