When there is not enough light to see the image, you can use an ir laser Illuminator.
The security camera can see the image in the dark using an infrared illuminator, sometimes a single unit, and sometimes it is integrated with the camera.
The higher the frequency, the more invisible the illuminator is. For a non-intrusive output use an illuminator in the 750 nm to 880 nm range, but for true stealth operation go to 940 nm or greater.
